he now weighs 4.80kgs. he feeds a lot, that's why! but he's a lot kinder than cayden (when he was his age) because though he feeds a lot during the day, he only wakes up twice overnight to feed - usually around 2:30am and 5:30am.
he's now settling into a routine. he's usually awake for most of the afternoon. as i've said, wakes up twice to feed overnight. he's a quiet baby, doesnt cry much, only when hungry. doesnt cry bec of soiled nappy. doesnt burp much but can fart with the best of them! =D
he's been lifting his head up at week 1. can handle my squirting milk (forceful letdown) better than cayden did. loves listening to music, would stop and look for the sound. stares at you when talked to and can follow you with his eyes and/or head. he's chuckled a few times and it was cute!
we're doing things a bit differently this time. as much as possible, i let him fall asleep by himself. i try to refrain from rocking him to sleep (which my mom sometimes find hard to resist). right after i feed him, as he's starting to doze off, i put him down and let him soothe himself to sleep. we had difficulty with cayden bec he got used to being carried all the time.
also, since week 1, i have trained kian to bottlefeed expressed milk. not everyday though. more like once a week, 2 oz at a time. this, i still feel guilty of but i know this is what's best for him. we were told to wait at least 6 weeks before introducing the bottle. we did as told with cayden and he ended up refusing the bottle. he never learned until he turned one! when i went back to work (cayden was 8months old), cayden refused to drink milk the whole day! he would only feed from me. he's into solids but he wasnt a big eater back then. anyways, kian can now feed from the bottle but at the moment, it's like once a week. this will also make travelling or going out easier for everyone.
im just babbling here, writing the first thing that comes to mind. but really, one month has gone too quickly! and before i know it, he'll be turning 1 already!

hello Che! happy 1 month to Kian! :) ang bilis nang oras noh? :) Reika is already 2 months old! ;) ang galing naman na you're able to put kian down to sleep whilst he's still drowsy. si Reika - masyado na atang nasanay sa buhat. the moment we put her down (crib or our bed) - she wakes up! if i want her to nap in the afternoon - kailangan sabayan ko sa pag tulog or buhatin ko siya! :P buti na lang at night time - she falls asleep after breastfeeding. i have resorted to co-sleeping (initially - ayaw ko kasi the midwives were all against it). kaya lang - reika and i sleep well- if i breast feed her in bed! :D
hi fritzie! oo nga, bilis talga ng panahon, my eldest will be 2 y/o this may. bukas mag 1 na ung mga babies natin =D
ganyan talga pag 1st baby, since you dont know what to expect, you tend to listen to the midwives. ganyan din kami dati. we're trying to do things differently this time - based sa aming experiences with cayden. my mom wants to pick up/carry kian whenever he cries but i tell her off. masasanay kasi ung bata ng karga. in the end, kami din mahihirapan. ok pa now since maliit pa, pero pag lumaki na, ang hirap! kaya lang minsan pasaway mami ko!
try mo train ulit si reika. at first mahirap, iiyak but she'll eventually get it =D. ok lang din to co-sleep. we found that out with cayden. dont listen too much sa mga midwives. do what you think is best for you, what will be easiest.
